Chapter 3 - A REALISATION

~

"Mr. Jeon, you should head back home, it's past 6 already." Jungkook's secretary, Sung Hoon, politely reminded him.

"No, not until I finish this." He is overworking himself. Usually he leaves the company after 6 and he reaches home by 7pm.

"But, it's raining really heavily, some routes may be clogged by the next few hours. It might be dangerous." His secretary looked outside the window but Jungkook's eyes stayed still on his PC screen and various papers lying here and there on his desk.

He was tired and anyone can say that by that look on his face. But for him this project is damn important and he was not ready to leave until he completed his task.

"You can tell everyone to leave, including yourself, I'll leave after a while." He ordered him without looking up, making his secretary sigh as he knew his boss really well, he will do what he wants when it's related to his work.

He won't listen to anyone.

"Okay Mr. Jeon." He bowed and left.

"I shouldn't have stayed till late." Jungkook cursed at his fate while hitting the steering wheel of his Mercedes Benz.

Looking ahead as he saw the board of danger signs indicating that the route ahead may be clogged and it's dangerous to drive ahead.

Checking the weather forecast on his phone, it showed that it will rain continuously for the next few hours, maybe even till morning. He sighed as he closed his eyes.

He knew very well that you'd be worried about him. And it's already past 8pm. And he is out of network, meaning he cannot call you.

The way leading to your house has only one route from his company and that is the problem he cannot go back home now.

He looked here and there from his car and soon his eyes caught an old vintage house across the road. That house looked so cosy. It was small but large enough for two people.

It reminded him of your home, he badly wanted to reach home and wanted to see you and he didn't know why? But he just wants to see you right now. Is he missing you? He doesn't know.

The house had a dim yellow lighting bulb above its entrance which lightened the area around it. He looked at his phone which had your wallpaper.

He has your wallpaper but he doesn't know why he did that? He doesn't know why he wants to see you a lot more than before now.

He was drowned in his thoughts why the rain poured, still. All of a sudden he heard a knock on his window. He looked up and found a man in his 60s or around smiling at him while he had an umbrella in his other hand covering himself.

"It's cold. Would you like to come inside?" The man offered. Jungkook thought for a second before coming out of his car.

He saw the man clearly now. The man was still smiling at him as he told him to follow him inside his house. Jungkook was a little drenched by the time he entered the house.

He immediately felt a warm feeling embracing his body as soon as he walked in the house. "I saw you for a while outside so I thought I should invite you inside.

Please have a sit and feel at home here" the grandpa smiled warmly at him before disappearing in the kitchen to prepare a herbal tea for him.

Jungkook looked around the house while removing his overcoat and keeping it aside. The house looked more cosy from the inside.

It was small no doubt but it was warm. It really felt at home to be here. The grandpa had that warm and welcoming approach since he met him.

He was still looking around when he felt the sound of a tray being kept on the table in the middle of 2 thick mats. "Have a seat child.

I know this must be a little
uncomfortable for you, I'm sorry" grandpa sat down on the mat with his legs folded. "No grandpa, it's nothing like that." Jungkook sat down as well in front of him.

Grandpa smiled and asked him, "I guess you're stuck here because of clogging at the routes?" Jungkook nodded as he sighed.

They drank the tea together as they talked for a while, Jungkook got to know that the grandpa had 2 children as well. "Then why don't you live with them? I mean, you're staying alone." Jungkook hesitated but still asked.

Grandpa just smiled, sighing as he looked out of the window, at the sky.

"Because this place holds the memories of all the sweet moments I have spent with my wife." His wrinkled eyes had that glowing shine as soon as he mentioned his wife.

Jungkook's heart beat fastened. Wife. His mind immediately diverted at your thought as soon as the mention of the word wife.

"What do you mean? And where is your wife?" It was getting a little obvious but still Jungkook asked him carefully. The old man's eyes teared up a little bit.

He held himself back and answered, "she's not here anymore, but she is in a better place." He revealed. "I miss her. All the time no doubt. But everytime I look at that sky, I start missing her a lot more. Because..." he pointed at the sky by nodding towards it, "the sky is always pretty and... so was she."

Jungkook's lips parted while listening to him. He felt something clenching inside him and he realised it was his heart.

The way grandpa was defining his lover's beauty and the love he had for her, he felt something inside him. As if a sudden realisation hit him.

Again his mind being diverted towards you, he remembers your face, how innocent you look, so small and gentle and yet he was afraid of it because he was confused.

Something did not sit right with him now so he asked him innocently, "grandpa.. how does it feel to be in love?"

Grandpa chuckled before questioning, "why? Are you in love?" "I have a wife..." Jungkook trailed off.

"And let me guess, you don't know if you're in love with her or not? Am I right?" Jungkook looked at him surprised, "how did you-" "young man, I've not reached till here just like that. I have experienced many things in life." The old man cutted off the younger one.

"Talking about love, to be honest Love has no exact definition or any boundaries. I can't define the word Love to you just like that.

It's a blessing you can say. Not everyone gets to experience Love but if you get that chance, do not let it slide.

That may be confusing at first but slowly and gradually, everything falls in its place." The old man smiled at the young boy who was looking at him so curiously.

"My wife is no more, but.. I still love her. You ask why I don't live with my kids and why alone like this, well, we raised them to be successful in their life and they surely did, but I do not want to be a burden on them now that they have their own life to live, to explore.

I'm happy here, just me and my wife, her memories. Because Love is boundless and it has no end. It's for eternity."

Jungkook's breathing was a little heavy as he looked down, breathing deeply. He has tears in his eyes. He learned today, Love is boundless.

Hearing the grandpa's story, he knows one thing for sure that Everyone is going to leave you in the end, if anyone would be by your side then it's your Lover.

Your soulmate.

Your other half.

Breathing stops but Love still continues.

Now that he deeply thinks of all the moments he has spent with you recently, why he feels so different around you these days.

An absolute jerk, he was to avoid his feelings just like that. But he has not realised that he has actually started to have feelings for you because the boy had no idea that it works that way.

But after listening to the old man. He realised it. And he hopes it's not late.p

He regrets avoiding you, on one hand a man is craving for his Lover but can't do anything because it's not in his hands anymore.

On the other hand, he still has a Lover, and yet, he took it for granted. He shouldn't have done that. He needs to see you right now. He needs to see your face and hear your calming voice or else he doesn't know what he will become.

He has to see you right now. He has to apologise right now. He has to tell you everything bottled up inside him now.

He needs you.
